School Luau and Road Trip

Mollie's day care had a luau the other day. Even though she doesn't go in the summer she still wanted to go to the luau. They did such a great job! The whole playground was decorated with palm trees and different Hawaiian aspects that the older kids had made. They had actual hula dancers, Hawaiian food and leis that were made by the teachers. Unfortunately, it decided to rain so we all had to go in. However, Mollie had a blast seeing her friends and her teachers.
On another note, our road trip for summer 2011 has started. We drove through the night and got to Clemson, South Carolina around 3:00 on Thursday afternoon. It's been nice having some quality time with John's grandparents and hopefully Mollie and Cy will have good memories of these times with them. We leave for the annual Harmon beach trip tomorrow to Edisto Beach and Mollie is so excited! We'll post pictures soon.

We haven't been doing much this summer. We are enjoying being home which is one thing that doesn't happen a lot when school is in session. Mollie and I have been going to the city library for storytelling time and arts and crafts. She received her library card and has already checked out, taken back and checked out more books. She's doing a reading log and is almost close to turning her first one in, that's 20 hours of reading in less than a week! She loves to be read to.
This week we start getting busy. Mollie and I are doing VBS at our neighbors church in the evenings, we're taking Mollie to see "Cars 2" on Friday, Friday is mine and John's 5 year wedding anniversary and swimming lesson. We're also starting to get things ready for our trip to South Carolina and East Tennessee. Every year we say we're going to scale down on what we take but we also have Cy this year so we'll see how that works out.

3 year old pictures

My awesome co-worker got a new camera for Mother's Day and wanted to play with it so I asked her if she would take Mollie's 3 year old pictures. I'm getting a little tired of the studio pictures and wanted to try something new. Needless to say, Amy did an awesome job! We had so much fun and she was so patient :) Thanks again Amy!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Mollie Ane!

We had a mini birthday party for Mollie yesterday. My cousin Stevie and her dog came over, my parents and Christina and Jason with the girls. We did Harmon Spaghetti and I made a cake. It was so nice! No stress :) Mollie woke up yesterday morning and knew it was her birthday. We gave her a Cars matching game and a new kitchen, which was waiting on her when she got home from school. My parents gave her some really cute Mickey Mouse towels for her new kitchen. She also go to wear PJ's to school yesterday and they sang happy birthday to her and enjoyed the cookies I made the night before.
Today is our last day at school and summer starts tomorrow! We have lots of fun things planned and I can't wait to spend time with my babies!

Mollie's Birthday party

Good times were had yesterday. Our awesome neighbors let us borrow their 3-slide blow up and Mollie started at 9, yesterday morning. She got in, in her pajamas and was soaking wet 10 minutes later. Her friends started arriving around 2 and the last person left at 9:30 last night. She had so much fun sliding, playing in the water, eating snow cones, eating cake and opening presents. It's hard to believe she's almost 3!

Mollie's School Pictures

To say we've been busy is an understatement. With John finishing softball/baseball season, starting spring football, getting TAKS done, finishing up the school year, planning Mollie's b-day party and getting things done around the house a free minute is somewhat a nice thing right now to say the least. However, Mollie's school pictures came in and they are AWESOME!!! We are so happy with them!
