My grandmother, Grannie, wasn't able to come to the hospital to meet Cy last week and the weather has finally gotten nice for her to feel comfortable to come up to the house to meet him. Luckily today was the day for a visit and she and Cy finally got to meet. Tears were shed and a very happy great-grandmother was able to hold her first (and only) great-grandson. Cy had just fallen asleep but he's a trooper and doesn't mind being held while he sleeps. :)
Besides meeting Grannie, Cy is adjusting very well to being home. Granted he's mostly eating and sleeping, with the occasional poop but he's such a good baby. How we have been blessed with 2 good babies is beyond me but we were. This makes me wonder what the teen-age years will be like. I'll try and take some pictures of Mollie and Cy and post them on here.

A Whole New World
To say our world has changed is an understatement. We got home late Friday morning and Mollie was so happy to have all of us home. She loves being a big sister and is so good at it. Her job is to give Cy his Binky when he's fussy, help with changing his diapers and likes to pick out his clothes. She also likes to cover him up but we have to make sure she doesn't cover his head. John and I were really worried about how she would do with Cy home but she has surprised us yet again with how well she has adapted to the change.
Our first night was an adventure to say the least. I fed Cy around 9:45, and John went on to bed since he was going to take night duty. Well Cy decided that he didn't want to sleep around 11 so John got up with him. He was up with him till @2:15 (crying most of this time) and I got up to help out. We finally got Cy asleep in his swing in the living room and John and I were just about to fall asleep and Mollie woke up screeching. We both go into her room and her whole bottom half of her bed was soaking wet, as was she. We think she had a sippy cup with water and it opened up and got all over her. Well we went to try and find her sheets and had no idea where they were so she ended up in bed with John. Of course, right when we got her changed and calmed down, Cy woke up. So, around 3:30 in the morning all 4 of us are up and both kids are bright eyed and ready to party. Mollie wanted to do her puzzle (which we let her do) then she and John went back to our room to sleep. I was in the living room with Cy and he was up off and on till 5:00 when it was time to eat. He finally went down around 6:30 yesterday morning.
However, we kept him stimulated all yesterday by putting him in the swing, talking to him or putting him on the play mat that Mollie had. To say that last night went smoother is an understatement. Mollie slept through the night but Cy didn't want to sleep in his crib so I slept on the couch with him till about 2:30 then John took the second half of the night with him.
Cy's eating 1.5-2 ounces every 3 1/2 to 4 hours. We've been working on getting him on a schedule since we were in the hospital and it's starting to get there which is good for his metabolism. He loves to look around and has already started to pick up his head! He loves Mollie and loves to stare at her and she returns the gesture every chance she can.
We're still working on potty training with Mollie but she's getting there. She's tee-teed a few times and even pooped once while she was staying with my parents. We know the chances of her regressing are high with Cy here but we're hoping now that the change has taken affect, we can get her more comfortable and we'll be done with pull-ups with her before we know it.
I took this video this morning of Cy. He was sleeping on his play mat and had the hiccups (which are too cute) and thought you all might enjoy it. He also does something new in the video but you'll have to watch in order to see what it is! :)

Well...here he is! Siler Rex Harmon was born on January 18th, 2011 at 12:05 PM. He weighed 6 pounds, 12.5 ounces. He was 19 inches long. We will call him Cy. He and momma are both doing well. We are already getting to know him well...all his little sounds, and what certain faces mean. He likes to be swaddled (the opposite of his big sister) and is happy to make his opinions known. He also does not like having his diaper changed.
Big sister Mollie met Cy for the first time. She looked at momma and said "Wook it Momma" (Look momma!)....she handled the first two meetings as well as we could ask. She is interested, but not overbearing. She likes looking at him, and isn't rough. She is happy to just be with him for now (or at least as long as her attention span will allow).
She brought him a pillow that she colored for him, and a bear that she made at build a bear. She also brought him two cupcakes for his "Happy Birthday". Cy was nice enough to let Mollie eat his.
Cy brought Mollie a baby doll. It was in his bassinet when she got there. When it was time to go she started wheeling the bassinet out of the room, thinking it was hers.
Mollie is also doing real well. She is starting to use the big girl potty, and is wearing big girl panties over her pullups. She is SO proud.
I will post more videos and pictures soon, but wanted to get something up now while I can.

So cute!
Yesterday was the best day for staying in and wearing PJ's all day. With the weather cold and rainy the last thing any one of us wanted to do was get out so we stayed home. Mollie played on her game that Grandma and GrandBob got her, colored, helped me vaccuum the house with her "No, No" as she calls them and helped John with some stuff to get ready for "Bubba's" arrival. Last night, John was channel surfing and came upon the movie "Up" which we hadn't seen. Well as soon as Mollie saw it she got on her stomach and sat and watched the rest of it (about 30-45 minutes) and then wanted to watch it again. Luckly John was able to get up pretty fast (I'm moving slower than a turtle these days) and get some cute pictures. Enjoy!

Busy, busy time....
We have been so busy that I haven't updated in the blog in forever. Obviously the big news around here is that Little Man will be here in less than 2 days. To say we are excited is an understatement. His room is ready with everything hung up except for 4-5 baseball cards of John's that I am matting and framing. We also have one wall ready to go for when Grandma comes down. We're thinking Bevo and Smokey...gotta have some UT in there somehow, someway.
I am officially on maternity leave. I started Friday at 4:00 but didn't leave school till 5:30. One thing about me as a teacher is that when it comes to my lessons I am overly prepared so getting ready to be out for 8 weeks was nerve wracking but luckily I work with 2 awesome 6th grade teachers and my department is wonderful so I'm not worried. It was strange walking out of there on Friday knowing I wouldn't be back till the end of March. Of course, I'll go up and visit once or twice but March is the earliest that this would happen. We have to wait till cold & flu season is over before I'll even think about taking the baby up to school.
Mollie is getting excited about her "Bubba" getting here. She knows how many days are left and where his room is but I know the truth of what is going on hasn't hit her yet and that's okay. However, we are still working on her potty training and are proud to say that she has gone potty 3 times so far! She loves how excited we get when she goes, and the candy she gets after wards, so hopefully after he gets here she won't get off course.
She's doing so well in school. She can count to 20 in English and Spanish, count to 10 on her hands, knows her left from her right, is speaking in 4-5 word sentences and loves to take her crayons and quiz me or John on the colors. Of course if we get it right, we get praise from her. It's so cute!
John's spring has started to really gear up. He is full-on with girls and boys basketball and soccer and also has baseball, softball and track about to start practicing. The nice thing with him being at Dickinson is that they don't have wrestling so we get him home a little bit more during the week and weekends then we would have had he still been at Brook. He'll be taking this week off with me and the baby since I'll be in the hospital till Friday but will go back next week. At that time, since I won't be able to drive, my mom and John will be shuttling Mollie to and from daycare so we can keep her in her routine as much as possible.
Well, that's all for now but no worries. Come Tuesday pictures and a name will be posted. Of course since my c-section isn't scheduled till noon it may be awhile but we are excited to meet the newest member of our family. Love to all!
