Austin Trip #2

Carol sleeping and Mollie "texting." What's wrong with this picture?
Playing in the sand at the Hula Hut.
Still playing
Mollie and Cooper the Longhorn at the Co-Op on campus.
As much as we love Austin, going two weekends in a row was a little tiring. Our babysitter/John's student trainer/Mollie's buddy Carol, went up with us to go with John to the UT student athletic trainer workshop on Sunday. We left Saturday afternoon and met Carol and her dad up in Austin. We took her down on the Drag to the Co-op and got her a shirt and of course Mollie got a few things. We then took her to a cool restaurant called the Hula Hut that is on Town Lake and had a wonderful dinner. It was so nice because they had a sand pit for the kids to play in and Mollie had so much fun. She was able to stay occupied during our 45 minute wait. Once it was our turn and we got her out, she had so much sand on her feet we just let her go barefoot!
After dinner we took Carol and her dad sight-seeing around Austin and the campus. Sunday morning we woke up and had breakfast and John and Carol went to their workshop. Mollie and I went to see our friends Elizabeth and Brendan and their twin boys Luke and Miles. We had so much fun playing with them. After the boys went down for a nap, Mollie and I headed back to campus to see my parents. They came into town to visit some friends and hooked up with me and the Monkey. We went to the Co-Op (yes again) and had lunch with them. After that Mollie and I went back to campus and hung out until John and Carol were finished.
Then.... we headed home. We have fun when we go to Austin but are looking forward to a few weekends at home.

Bluebonnets!

Smelling the flowers.
What is this?
Going for a walk.
Mommy and her girl.
We went to Austin this weekend to celebrate the first birthdays of Luke and Miles Puthoff. Their parents Elizabeth and Brendan are friends of ours from UT (the Texas one) and we haven't been able to see them very often so we hit the road to share this wonderful time with them and their awesome boys. Unfortunately this time of year is when the wild flowers are blooming and everyone was on the road to stop and get pictures. (This is kind of a Texas tradition.) Well we got caught in traffic so decided to pull over, eat lunch and get some pictures. Mollie loved playing in the flowers and did pretty well.
We had fun at the birthday party and John was even able to go out last night with Brendan and Alan (our friend Kim's boyfriend.) However, we woke up this morning and Mollie just wasn't right. Sure enough, after she got out of the shower she threw up all over the hotel bed so back in the shower she went with Daddy. We had to cut our trip short and not see the Puthoffs but there was no way she was going to be around the boys and possibly get them sick. So, back home we went. She did pretty good on the way home; granted she got to watch "Cars" twice. :)
She's feeling better and her temperature has come down but she and I will be home tomorrow because John has to go to St. John's to do a few things before he can considered officially hired by the hospital.
We are so excited about this new opportunity for him and LOVE the idea of normal hours and no weekends! Hopefully we'll get to do a lot more as a family and John will get to fish more! :)
Love to all!

Happy Easter!

I think I found one!
Playing peek-a-boo with Daddy.
Checking out the card from Gran and Pops
The Easter Bunny after his visit. What a stash!
Getting eggs at the city-wide hunt with Mommy.
The anticipation of the hunt...so excited!
We've had a wonderful Easter weekend as Helen and Bob came into town on Thursday. We've been going but not too much. Yesterday we went to the city-wide Easter Egg Hunt and Mollie did very well including going down a "big girl" winding slide all by herself! Today we went to church, came home and did Easter Bunny with Mollie (she loaded up!) and then we to my parent's to celebrate this wonderful day with my grandmother, Christina and her family and of course my parents. We had tons of food, lots of eggs to hunt, more Easter Bunny gifts to open and good ole conversation. We've celebrated with Christina's family for a few years now and love how relaxed it always is. We hope everyone had a wonderful day and am so blessed to have our family and friends in our lives. Love to all!
